My name is Audric. I am a mental health endorsed occupational therapist and psychotherapist.
Outside of private practice, I work with a government organisation providing therapy and support to adolescents and adults with complex mental health presentations and their families. I also work as an academic at the University of Queensland in occupational therapy.
I have undergone further training in psychotherapy, specific approaches such as mentalization based treatment (MBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). In addition to investment in understanding the value of psychoanalytic theory of the psyche.
I work integratively, with a range of evidence based approaches with a particular focus on the therapeutic alliance, and strengthening mentalizing capacity. See more on my approach here.
I have worked both in NGO and government, and have worked in Myanmar, Fiji, the Phillipines and Nepal. I have spent over 100 days in silent meditation in the Burmese Vipassana tradition.
I am fortunate to have worked alongside clients to improve their quality of life, relationships, ability to cope, reduce self-harm and other unwanted behaviours, improve their relationship to themselves, and increase awareness of mental states.
In the therapeutic encounter, I will pay careful attention to you, and together we will reflect and work towards understanding, and inevitably, change.
